Yup, a piggybank like you used to have as a kid. It can really help, and is probably the easiest and simplest way to get started saving. The idea of a piggybank is that you can’t get to the money–the old ones were made of clay and had no way of getting the money out without smashing it. Which, of course, was what made you resist the temptation to take the money out and spend it.
The best piggybank that I’ve ever seen was the Save, Spend, Donate, Invest one I had as a kid, and is available still! There’s a slightly less kid-like one that is more dignified–but pig has great symbolism: in Chinese culture it represents wealth! Here is an unopenable one, a pig-shaped one, and one that is just boxes. Of course you can also just use a jar to get started (and to save money too!)
